Towboat Deckhand Handbook
A Training Manual for Standard Towing
A towboat deckhand’s job is not as simple as just doing what you are told while waiting to be a captain. It is a trade of its own with its own responsibilities. You must learn, earn respect in and be able to teach this trade to others before thinking of becoming an officer in charge.
The purpose of this handbook. To begin to pass along some of the language, ways of work and expectations of a deckhand on a working tug. |
|
The Towboat Deckhand Handbook with Log Towing Supplement combines the information on standard towing and log towing. |
